Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned that his country will continue to oversee the place to be a logistics distribution base for NATO troops in Afghanistan. Russia also will not allow civil or military authorities of NATO for the control of the region.
"The base will be under the supervision of the Russian Federation. There should be no military activity or civilian personnel of NATO," Lavrov said,
Establishment of distribution bases are initiated by the United States (U.S.) to assist the withdrawal of NATO forces in Afghanistan in 2013 until 2014.
Russian troops will be tasked to inspect all cargo that is on that basis. This was done in order to be aware of the smuggling of narcotics from Central Asia to the Land of the Red Bear.
