Jerusalem - A suspected rocket fired from the Sinai Peninsula, Egypt reportedly struck a popular resort owned by Israel, Eilat. But no one was killed or injured in this incident.
"The rocket is fired from the Egyptian city exploded but caused no casualties or injuries," said Eilat District police chief Ron Gertner told AFP on Thursday (04/05/2012).
A number of security officers were reportedly positioned on full alert following the possibility of further attacks that would hit the region.
"Residents of Eilat heard three explosions in the night, but we only managed to find a rocket," said police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld.
The blast occurred in the middle that hit the area density of Eilat, following the fulfillment of the city by local tourists who want to celebrate the Easter holiday.
One resident who heard the explosion Eilat, said he found traces of rocket that is only 150 meters from his residence.
"I went out to see what happens. For 40 minutes I am looking to use the rudimentary lighting. Finally I found traces of rocket debris," said a resident of Eilat Yossi Atia.
Until now there is no party has claimed responsibility for this attack.
