DHAKA, fighter trainer aircraft L-39ZA Albatros Bangladesh Air Force reportedly crashed on Sunday (08/04/2012). One of the two pilots were killed in the incident.
MA Masud police officer said on Monday (04.09.2012), the plane had technical problems when running a training flight missions in the north of Dhaka, Bangladesh, Sunday. The plane then crashed in a plot of rice.
According to Masud, two-seater tandem pilot was successfully rescued from the wreckage, but one pilot died while being treated at military hospitals. One pilot is still in care longer.
According to the book Miltary Balance 2010, Bangladesh still operates eight units of L-39ZA jet aircraft made by Czechoslovakia as a training aircraft and light aircraft to support ground attack.
