Washington, a 13-year-old boy to
rescue her friends at school who ride the school bus. When a school bus driver
suddenly passed out, the boy bravely took over the wheel and managed to stop
the bus safely.
Wuitschick Jeremy was on his way to school along with 15 other children in Milton, Washington, United States (U.S.), on Monday (9/4) local time. Along the way, Wuitschick realized something was wrong with the bus driver.
"The driver looks funny. His eyes bulged and his position seat leaned back and his hand-shake dikibas without purpose," said Wuitschick.
When the bus started to uncontrollable rate and leads to the edge of the road, brave youth is quickly taking over the wheel of the bus.
"I stood up, grabbed the wheel and steered the bus speed to the right and then pull the key out. And it worked, the bus stop. It was horrible," he said.
After the bus had stopped, Wuitschick then ask other students to call 911. But there is a student named Johnny Wood who claimed he could perform CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation).
CCTV video in the bus did show that Wuitschick and other students were very quiet during this incident occurred. "I just acted on instinct. It all happened very quickly and did not like in the movies where everyone is screaming and panicking," said Wuitschick.
Local authorities praised the courageous action Wuitschick and plans to give a gift to him.
"I tell you, I'll give this kid an award for quick thinking. He did the right thing and we'll give him something. This kid deserves an award," said Milton Police Chief, Bill Rhodes, told ABC News.
Meanwhile, the bus driver who was not identified, was rushed to a nearby hospital of St. Francis Hospital. The driver has not been known to cause sudden fainting.
