Apartments will cite this as a missile site



LONDON, KOMPAS.com - Residents of an apartment block in London was told that some surface-to-air missiles will be placed on building their homes to help fight air terror threat against the Olympics.

"Missile system with high speed may be placed on the roof" and 10 soldiers stationed in the building for two months at the Olympics, which began July 27, according to a flyer distributed to residents. Ministry of Defence, Saturday (28/04/2012), confirming that the ministry is looking for locations when the British prepared improve security operations for the peaceful Olympics.

"Air defense system based in the land could be held as part of the air for the Olympic security plan, including helicopters and fast jets," the ministry spokesman said in a statement. "Based on military equipment, we have identified a number of places and ... is holding talks with local government and landowners to help minimize the impact of any temporary deployment," he said.

The ministry has not made a final decision on the missile, but it is assessing the location with the police, the statement added.
