about outbreaks of mysterious skin disease that affects the middle of Vietnam. The
outbreak has so far killed 19 people, mostly children.
"We are very concerned with this condition. WHO is very, very concerned about this case," said the head of WHO in Vietnam, Wu Guogao.
In Vietnam, this skin disease affects more than 170 people with early symptoms of high fever and loss of appetite. Then will appear in the skin rash that looks like a burn.
According Guogao, there has been no request from the Vietnamese authorities to the WHO to investigate the mysterious disease. To date, he added, WHO has not been granted access by the authorities of Vietnam-related case.
"It's hard to say exactly what causes this disease," he said.
This mysterious skin disease affects many people in the region of Ba To, Quang Ngai Province. WHO's own party claimed to have never found a similar disease in other countries.
At present, Vietnam Ministry of Health is still doing in-depth investigation of this disease. The results of this investigation is eagerly awaited by local physicians who treat patients with this disease.
"The investigation is still not released. Therefore, we do not know much about this disease. As far as I know, the Ministry of Health intends to invite experts from other countries to further investigate this disease," said Chief District Health Centers Ba To, doctors Dang Thi Phuong.
Most of the victims of this disease are children under the age of 10 years. The initial symptoms of this disease are people with experience high fever, loss of appetite and a rash on the soles and palms. Continued later with liver disorders and finally had some organ failure.
The local media was informed that approximately 10 percent of people infected with this disease suffer from a serious liver disorder.
